DESCRIPTION
Located in Mount Lebanon, The Great Escape unfolds as a composition of interlocking stone volumes gently embedded in the natural slope. The house slips into the ground rather than rising above it, offering a quiet retreat carved into the landscape. Stepping with the terrain, it forms terraces, planted roofs, and sheltered outdoor rooms that extend daily life into nature. Open stairs and layered platforms reveal framed views toward the valley beyond. Local stone, timber screens, and textured slabs create depth and shadow, while cascading vegetation softens the edges. A subtle escape, both inward and into the earth, it balances privacy, panorama, and belonging.
